subject: a light-skin black girl with a harsh background (foster care, some physical abuse, a virgin until age 19)
she’ll be nice to me, but then she’ll be mean/give me the silent treatment or ignore me on the very same day.
there’s extremely immature emotionality—quite dramatic with obvious anger issues, which include lashing out at others over minor perceived slights, and she’s lashed out at me for even trying to speak with her sometimes as well after I screwed up with her, but then she’ll talk to me an hour or two later like nothing happened.
what do? she’s shown obvious interest: trying to speak with me, teasing/giving compliments, trying to be near me, staring, etc.
what I’m trying to determine NOW is if I should attempt to escalate, which might anger her, or if I should just back off for good. her anger is something I’m still not entirely sure how to handle. I’ve so far only tried to be reasonable/not lose my cool and to give her space. one approach I haven’t tried is showing compassion, but that’s risky, and there’s only so much abuse I will take.
