pages load a fraction of a second faster now. great

just wondering because they're phasing out adsl & now everyone everywhere is being forced to switch to fibre

what a shit worthless thread

adsl is ur standard pickup truck

fiber is a toyota hilux.

sure both are almost similar but the real power comes into play during high loads and traffic, fiber will still be indestructible and the chances of bottlenecking is extremely extremely low. since data is transmitted in an optical fibre (via light).

toyota hilux is indestuctible as fuk and so is fibre

It's for people who live their lives on the internet and are paying for all kinds of online services.

i switched to it 2 months ago and i m not sure if i like it

the service is awful in my country

when it works normally, it is 5 x faster than what i had before, but now it's unstable and its speed fluctuates from hour to hour, which is unbearable

seems pretty consistent for me, but i live in a solid 2nd world country

the main benefit imo is the ability to do multiple things that hog internet at once; with copper it's impossible to download a movie & play a game simultaneously

the difference between a solid and borderline 2nd world country, probably. most users here are just being scammed since telecom companies know most people have no idea about internet infrastructure

yea, i ve noticed the same thing. also got a laptop with more ram recently, so it's even more obvious, tho

My cable net is already faster than the fiber they offer

Now the lady did claim that "upload" would improve, but I don't believe in upload
