can you believe it, back in 2013-14 I was arguing with a guy at school, who said "you have to pay to subscribe to youtube channels so I'm not subscribing to anybony" and I said obviously that's not true since I'm subscribed to plenty. Which is an interesting foreshadowing because a paid subscription feature was added some ~10 years later.

Which is an interesting foreshadowing because a paid subscription feature was added some ~10 years later. i miss subscriptions to magazines and actual services especially when they had little toys in the magazines it was too legit, much better way to digest and receive information because everything had to compete to be included in each issue and u can choose exactly what type of magazine/audience u want to be now we have to sift through mountains of garbage to find something remotely relevant and most scientific info is paywalled gg
