it seems like there are really very few areas that have a “generally good” quality of life

very few places have all of the following:
-lack of violent ethnics
-reasonably pleasant weather
-good enough wages/prices for the average person to afford a house and a family
-good place in general to raise a family and some degree of confidence your children will have the same life or better that you did

everywhere seems to be going to shit
the average person lives like a peasant
rabid niggers everywhere
where are you even meant to live tbh

switzerland is priced out for the average person to my understanding
moving to norway seems too life-disruptive
anywhere worth living in the US has become too expensive for avg person i think (without making significant sacrifices)
AU i’m not super familiar with the economics and logistics of moving there but it could be legit

the nature is some of the worst in the world
which is still better than an urban hellscape, but still…

first few days after returning to the UK felt like i was living in a a slum. the difference in wealth is visceral

maine is quite nice. the main (haha) issue with it is the lack of suitable jobs available. i guess it’s a bit cold too.
florida is nasty in many ways — basically a latin american nation at this point, too hot and humid 80% of the year, hurricanes, super flat so no good hiking, rapidly increasing in price
anywhere worth living in california is prohibitively expensive
