i got 2 dental implants yesterday and i m on antibiotics, so they told me i have to stay off alcohol at least 48 hours because of its interaction with the medication and the healing process blabla

please tell me this is the usual overly cautious bullshit and i dont have to spend the weekend sober

literally nothing will happen

the antibiotics might not work as well though but theyre more a precaution than anything

Quote:The rational assessment is:

If you were 2 weeks post-op and not on antibiotics, moderate wine would be low risk.

At <24 hours post-op + active metronidazole, the downside is disproportionately high relative to the benefit.

You are making a short-term hedonic decision against a biologically sensitive window.

From a medical risk–reward standpoint, the recommendation remains abstinence until 48–72 hours after the last antibiotic dose.

that's what i read from this quote too

besides, i have an insane immune system/genetics overall and never had a single problematic reaction to any surgery/treatment, let alone the meds' sides

companies obviously don't want to be liable if something does happen

you really shouldn't be drinking at all obviously let alone on meds
