ww1 military technology is the most fascinating

zeppelins, rail guns, stormtroopers, proto-tanks, proto-bombers, proto-submarines, flamethrowers and chemical warfare

all those crazy techs were introduced at the same time and it was a technological race on who will get the best new weapons the soonest

ur not intrigued by megalodon sized railway cannons and hot air balloons performing bombing raids?

a few years prior countries would line infantry in napoleontic formations across each other, place cannons on hills and try to flank the enemy with cavalry charges, the technological leap that occured was crazy.

i kinda like the cavalry charges and infantries in napoleonic formations with cannons
technological leap is impressive, sometimes its just annoying. nowadays there are drones made for warfare and its quite lame
it weirds me out that theres so much technology developed in wars, there must be a common denominator in will/force driving both wars and technology. i think i have a hint but if i talk about it i might be cursed which is why i made the 2026 thread without saying much

i talk about this picturing how it plays out as a soldier tbh, i dont know anything about the technical details of those military vehicles and machines. i believe theres a point of technological progression where a war field becomes merely a relentless meat grinder instead of kino. back to 2022, seeing how drones were used in the ru v. ukr made me sigh. knowing that nuclear warheads and nuclear bombs are real is also something that annoys me to no end, it just puts some nations in inertia in front of evil because of threat of total annihilation always in the corner
