Village folk from my country still believe almost every phenomenon or even scientifically proven forces of nature or simple coincidences to be some spirit or karma-esque thing


My great-grandmother was always hellbent on figuring out what her or everyone else did wrong if the weather acted up. Also did some rituals for when she believed that bad spirits had wandered into the living space. Told us to always look to the direction of the sun when doing something important, with open windows, for that is how good energy will circulate throughout the household. 

Those who grew up with Abrahamic theology instilled in them will obviously deny all other signs of phenomena. It threatens the entire basis for their faith. Many have always had a hypocritical side for "pagan" beliefs. 



Sometimes I make my Christian friend mad on purpose when he asks me if I believe in a God in judgemental ways sometimes.

I always reply with :

No, I don't believe in a God, spirits, ghosts, hauntings or anything of the sort.

yeah. at the end of the day, it's just infinite narcissism. i know a retard (i thought he was a pretty smart guy before) who almost died in a car accident and ... concluded god decided to save him, so he became extremely religious. literally translates to - people who die in all kinds of accidents died because god didnt like them enough/didnt find them important. in fact, this is closer to being evil than narcissistic.

The Gnostics also believed that beyond the Creator God lies the true Supreme Being (the existence of whom God doesn’t recognize because he is blinded by his violent temper and jealousy). It was this Supreme Being, they maintain, who sent Christ to earth in the form of a snake to rescue Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden!
