Yeah you need to dose it low and sparingly, not MVP tier . Twice a week it should present no problem unless you have addictive personality ( I don't know how you got dependent on alcohol but if you could have stopped within 4 months of use then you should be able to stop kratom after 3-4 months )

the source you linked was using iq in childhood, which is basically how obedient and good at taking tests the kid is 

1. that doesn't mean it is measuring something ontologically real 
2. the iq of both indiviudals and populations does vary pretty significantly over time
