appetite itself is regulated by leptin and ghrelin. there are substances that do disregulate or disrupt it severely. you might notice people on SSRIs are overweight, which isn't caused by 'depression' otherwise it would be noted prior to any treatment that be. the disruption to their appetite-regulating hormones starts rapidly and with 1:1 match to the start of SSRI usage. I do agree with some of your points here, I believe that those who brush their teeth too much might be weakening their teeth. I however don't know enough of fluoride, but if you are going at this on pharma companies then you might take a look at the psychiatric industry
