I've read less than 2 dozen books my whole life

If you have a brain that is adapted to an environment where indecision gets you killed, you cannot sit around and read, you must know truth at the snap of a twig. I have such a brain. I am a throwback to ancient greeks. The greeks have a concept called noesis where you basically know everything without needing to learn. This is something that has been selected out of civilization by increased safety and leisure. If you think about it, humans have everything they need to thrive directly out of the womb, it's all encoded into the dna. Any information outside of dna almost certainly superfluous
