Was thinking about this earlier

It hits different when someone is nice to you and they have literally no reason to be (not obligated by their job or pressure from other people) 

Though, I suppose there's a difference between a random act of kindness from a stranger and knowing someone for a while

I remember at the shelter who my aunt on my mom's side runs, she/one of her sisters had some adopted kid who was 6'10" and psl 5.5 and worked for the cops. He wouldn't even acknowledge my existence lmao. They all went out of their way for him, though. And you can tell they actually considered him part of their family where as with me they wanted me to gtfo asap
