Best cities for Technology Industry
1st - Bengaluru
2nd - Hyderabad 
3rd - Gurgaon (Delhi National Capital Region)
4th - Chennai
5th - Pune

Adding 5 here just so you understand the depth of the tech industry. there are too many tech hubs around the country and these 5 are generally considered the most lucrative for any tech company to setup shop and they are even incentivized to do so in these places.

Best cities for Electronics, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
1. Chennai
2. Bengaluru
3. Noida (Delhi National Capital Region)

Best cities for Automobile/Aerospace
1. Chennai

Best cities for Finance/Law/Accounting

Best cities for Academics

Would not recommend any big city for academia other than these 2. Other cities only have a few key colleges, otherwise the whole city-industry as a whole is not worth it. Also worth noting that, a good amount of top Indian colleges are scattered and are in their own college towns.
