This thread is designed to help you plan your future and choose a suitable place to find business and work when you will have to ultimately travel to India, be it for short durations or to start a new journey in your life altogether.
I had an original draft where I elaborated on why each city has earned its position, however it was making the thread too long. if you guys do want me to post it, let me know.
Best cities for Technology Industry
1st - Bengaluru
2nd - Hyderabad
3rd - Gurgaon (Delhi National Capital Region)
4th - Chennai
5th - Pune
Adding 5 here just so you understand the depth of the tech industry. there are too many tech hubs around the country and these 5 are generally considered the most lucrative for any tech company to setup shop and they are even incentivized to do so in these places.
Best cities for Electronics, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain
1. Chennai
2. Bengaluru
3. Noida (Delhi National Capital Region)
Best cities for Automobile/Aerospace
1. Chennai
2. Bengaluru
3. Pune
Best cities for Finance/Law/Accounting
1. Mumbai
2. Delhi
3. Bengaluru
Best cities for Academics
1. Delhi
2. Chennai
Would not recommend any big city for academia other than these 2. Other cities only have a few key colleges, otherwise the whole city-industry as a whole is not worth it. Also worth noting that, a good amount of top Indian colleges are scattered and are in their own college towns.

1. Mumbai
2. Chennai
3. Hyderabad
Best cities for Social Media/Music
1. Mumbai
2. Delhi and Delhi NCR (National Capital Region)
3. Bengaluru
Best Regions for Tourism/Hospitality Industry
1. Delhi and Delhi National Capital Region
2. Goa (state)
3. Mumbai
