there will be layers that will be fast with low fee if one decides to use it as currency. but currently no one is holding bitcoin to use as a currency, it's primary purpose is a deflationary store of a value.

government doesn't need to be involved. security of your assets is entirely your responsibility. i know it's a hard concept to wrap your head around for someone dependent on institutions. even so, there are various security measures and methods that will prevent erroneous transfers, it's not a problem.

all of those shitcoins and shady exchanges have nothing to do with bitcoin. when something is valuable and popular, bad people will exploit it. this is the fault of people not educating themselves on these matters and choosing to go in blindly.

the modern financial system will collapse, what remains of it will be forced to adapt to bitcoin. bitcon has revolutionized the concept of money. decentralization and anonymization are the core principles of bitcoin. if it's possible for the government to directly interfere in any way, there's no point it might as well just be another form of the digital currency that already exists today.
