There's a wonderful routine you can play: take a sheet of paper and say to your friend

"Crumple this, and I will then magically even it out, so that you can't even tell it was ever crumpled."

Let's suppose he does a half-assed effort to crumple the paper.

You tell him: "Cmon, put yourself into it."

He then proceeds to seriously crumple the whole sheet.

Next you tell him "OK now unfold it and hand it to me."

(he does that)

Finally you say: "Thanks. I need this to go to the bathroom."

there are people who will say “oh who needs this, everyone knows how to fold paper, if you can’t you are stupid” and so on. But what these people don’t realize is that they are likely the ones folding incorrectly. Paper folding, or as the Japanese call it, “origami”, is an art form and it takes some dedicated to the craft 10 or 15 years to even master the proper single fold technique. So before you judge, check yourself.
