Also did some rituals for when she believed that bad spirits had wandered into the living space. Told us to always look to the direction of the sun when doing something important, with open windows, for that is how good energy will circulate throughout the household. Those who grew up with Abrahamic theology instilled in them will obviously deny all other signs of phenomena. It threatens the entire basis for their faith. Many have always had a hypocritical side for "pagan" beliefs. Sometimes I make my Christian friend mad on purpose when he asks me if I believe in a God in judgemental ways sometimes. I always reply with : No, I don't believe in a God, spirits, ghosts, hauntings or anything of the sort. And he goes into a passive aggressive fit of rage pertaining to your point on Quote:willing to admit so many other concepts/behaviors/phenomena are being misinterpreted by us interpreting them from our limited perspective (personification) RE: function and purpose are man-made concepts - Altruist - 01-11-2024 (01-11-2024, 08:01 PM)n9wiff Wrote: Village folk from my country still believe almost every phenomenon or even scientifically proven forces of nature or simple coincidences to be some spirit or karma-esque thing yeah. at the end of the day, it's just infinite narcissism. i know a retard (i thought he was a pretty smart guy before) who almost died in a car accident and ... concluded god decided to save him, so he became extremely religious. literally translates to - people who die in all kinds of accidents died because god didnt like them enough/didnt find them important. in fact, this is closer to being evil than narcissistic. RE: function and purpose are man-made concepts - ΛΟΓΟΣ - 02-11-2024 Quote:The Gnostics also believed that beyond the Creator God lies the true Supreme Being (the existence of whom God doesn’t recognize because he is blinded by his violent temper and jealousy). It was this Supreme Being, they maintain, who sent Christ to earth in the form of a snake to rescue Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden! In other words, it was Christ who appeared to Eve (according to the Gnostics, Eve was more spiritually advanced than Adam) and invited her to eat from the tree of knowledge. But God realized what was happening and threw Eve and Adam out of the Garden before they had a chance to also eat from the tree of eternal life. Because God stopped them from reaching the second tree, humanity remains subject to death to this day. Quote:Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. RE: function and purpose are man-made concepts - ΛΟΓΟΣ - 02-11-2024 "...l will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous...l will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you." Genesis 17:2-8 "[Yahweh] lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be my God, the rock of my salvation, the God who gave me vengeance and brought down peoples under me..." 2 Samuel 22:44-51 "Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it. He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet. He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind. He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him — the dark rain clouds of the sky...you have made me the head of nations. People I did not know now serve me, foreigners cower before me; as soon as they hear of me, they obey me. They all lose heart, they come trembling from their strongholds..." Psalm 188-45 "Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, 'All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me. "' — Matthew 4:8-10 "Satan...is the god of this world... - 2 Corinthians 4:4" '"Jesus said, 'My kingdom is not of this world.'" - John 18:36 In Genesis, "God" is a translation of "Elohim", from Hebrew אֱלֹהִים or אֱלוֹהַּ(elohiym) which is the plural of "god". "God" also continually refers to himself in the plural throughout Genesis. "Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness..." Genesis 1 "LORD" is also a translation of the name "Yahweh", the deity who is first named in Genesis 2. The title "LORD of hosts" occurs 261 times in the Old Testament and is another version of the title "LORD God". The word "hosts" is a translation of the Hebrew word sabaoth, meaning "armies" of the heavens. The phrase "LORD God", then, is a translation of "Yahweh Elohim", a title comparable to "LORD of hosts". "Yahweh Elohim" means "Yahweh Gods" or, rendered in grammatical English, "Yahweh of the Gods". The significance of this can only be understood when we look at the hidden "heretical" text, "The Hypostasis of the Archons", in which multiple deities have a hand in man's creation: "The rulers (the Archons/the Elohim) laid plans and said, "Come, let us create a man that will be soil from the earth." They modeled their creature as one wholly of the earth...And he (Yahweh) breathed into his face; and the man came to have a soul and remained upon the ground many days.' Throughout this text, frequent reference is made to "the ruler of the forces", yet another version of the phrase "LORD of hosts" or "LORD of the gods". Yahweh is but one deity among many who had a hand in creating humanity's material form. It is his arrogance which causes him to think of himself as the supreme deity. "Their chief is blind; because of his power and his ignorance and his arrogance he said, with his power, 'It is I who am God; there is none apart from me.' When he said this, he sinned against the entirety. And this speech got up to incorruptibility; then there was a voice that came forth from incorruptibility, saying, 'You are mistaken, Samael' — which is, 'god of the blind."' "If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit." -- Matthew 15:14 RE: function and purpose are man-made concepts - Sassy Doll - 02-11-2024 (02-11-2024, 01:54 AM)ΛΟΓΟΣ Wrote: "...l will make my covenant between me and you, and will make you exceedingly numerous...l will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you." Seems impossible to solve" and suddenly some Christian channel comes on TV, and the teen leaps: "YES! PROBLEM SOLVED!"
