whenever some people find out i've had pitch fucking perfect grades and other test scores from elementary school onwards on autopilot, they switch to "fuck grades, bro, it's just numbers, it's all about passing the test and moving on" mode for the rest of the conversation
and it's not that i meet someone, stand in front of them and start, without anyone asking, emphasizing this fact and acting like i expect them to bow down, lmfao; i never bring this up that way simply because it's not necessary, but i do answer questions aimed that way without pretending i should be ashamed of it

i dont remember asking anyone what their grades were.
i posted this because i cant believe how defensive people get about it. last week i had one of those conversations i m describing and the guy kept coming back at that long after the conversation shifted from it, lmao
i mean, the underlying sentiment and logic are self-explanatory, but the intensity is just funny

What was your GPA out of law school
You said you got some insane opportunity very early in law school or something like that

i got some rep by doing some stuff (on top of nailing all exams and having 180/180 tier scores), so i got approached by 4 law firms. started working for the one of my friend's dad and spent most of my free time writing shit for them (couldn't be a legit employee as a regular student and none of us cared enough to bother looking for a workaround, so it was all informal). that's why i studied for so long (like 8 years or so), which was hilarious in situations where i'd get "i feel you, bro, same here" when some loser who could barely grasp the harder subjects would find out about it. i was writing complex briefs (in litigation, not cringe criminal procedure) before most of my peers even got to enroll in related subjects, jfl
gpa was 4.93 or so. got a couple of 4s in extremely unimportant exams by the end (the last year is there just to fill some stupid rule related to the bologna process, so the curriculum is a couple of joke exams + the thesis)

it's borderline insulting that some people think so high of themselves that they believe someone would put thought into what their grade in x class was in highschool
I just remembered a funny anecdote, I was discussing with someone about our university entrance exams, I said "I got 15/20 in math, it was difficult" and this guy interrupts "get good, I got 18".
Guess where he was studying : Department of music technology and acoustics, Crete. Minimum entry grade: 7/20.

Aside from the resentment, people think A student = tryhard, which is often not the case. A smart kid does not hate or pick on the A-student.

it's the same exact dynamics with butthurt normies thinking or at least believing chad = asshole
same shit about le memorization vs actually understanding the subject. whenever i d hear someone parrot that nonsense, it was a retard who had no idea what they just fucking read 99% of the time spent studying. it's a combination of them being self-conscious + these cheap tropes sounding good and being appealing to the average smoothbrain. that one is funny because it's based on an idiotic premise that there is a negative correlation between intelligence and memory

Of course kids pick on A-students. I'm saying a smart person wouldn't, because an A-student is more likely to be someone you might need later. But 14 year olds don't really think like that.

no, you don't get what I'm trying to say
some people are just antisocial narcissists/psychopaths, maybe smart people even more often so
believe me, I attended an exam entry pilot school from 16-18, and was surrounded by top percentile IQ students
the guy sitting next to me (160 IQ undiagnosed psychopath with photographic memory) would bully me for the entire day when he would get a higher grade than me (90% of the time because he'd always get 20/20)

I have a friend who does this ( unironically, he's not kidding or anything ), as a culinary student
Also bragged about how hard his "quantitave methods for business" exam was when it was literally just rehashed easy high school math with all the formulae given ( binomial theorem, interest, basic stats etc. )
Can't tell if he's trying to annoy me or what
