What a disgusting article, I can't believe I read that slop

Quote:Download strictly forbidden!

Should you now be tempted and considering whether to download the Spotify archive: Let it stay! The whole thing is illegal and could also cause significant legal problems for anyone who pulls the database out of the network.
Better to listen to 52 years of Spotify legally

In addition, the download is not worth it both technically and financially: In order to store 300 terabytes of data, you need 75 hard drives with 4 terabytes of storage capacity each. A 4-terabyte plate currently costs around 110 euros. So you would have to spend about 8250 euros for the hard disks first. In addition, there is the accessories, such as hard drive housings, cables and so on.

wAoW talk about having a chaotic good moral alignment

this is some robinhood-esque stuff right here, won the internet, the streets, and the gender re-arrangement surgery clinics

needless to say, f*ck spotify, a greedy capitalist mogul company that tries to squeeze every penny out of hard-working artists!

It wasn't even a hack. All they did was scrape the metadata of releases en masse & compiled it into a massive archive. As far as I am aware, AA hasn't officially released any copyrighted audio taken from the platform.
