it's the same shit with standup comedy, really. the activity is framed so that expectations get in the way of simply having a good time

been listening to some insipid cuckold blabber about his AMAZING trip to amsterdam for 20 minutes today. he was literally describing walking from one street to another like it's some once in a lifetime experience. whenever he'd start telling his friend about another experience with jubilant joy, i thought "this guy is living the life, tbh", just for the story to end up being about him and his crew ... deciding not to visit a section of some museum because it was full of tourists already. that's it. that's the memory he got from a trip he's now retelling like he discovered a new pyramid.

Jag

the dude wasnt even annoying and didnt sound like a retard, so i felt kinda bad for him.

and then it happened. suddenly, when i already thought he's a thing of the past, classic rӏ emerged from my subconscious, looked at him and said: "i never knew visiting basic shops, restaurants and museums showcasing rocks and scattered ink made to empty the pockets of brainwashed foreigners who are desperately seeking fulfillment in their miserable, unremarkable lives could be such a fascinating experience. do you get a similar kick from tying your shoes or cleaning your desk too, you fucking clown?"

of course, as always when you poke an NPC, all he could do was utter: "uh-uhmm-m, do we a problem? i'm allowed to talk to my friends about my life, you know". this just triggered me even more because it was more predictable than honest's "input" about ... pretty much everything, so i closed it off with: "wow. as inspiring and filled with character as your stories". the ride was almost over by then, so i went to the door to get out on the next station. i think i noticed a foid or two mirin me while i was at it, they definitely heard the convo because i made sure half the tram hears me humiliate the insipid cuckold.

though, this probably only happened because i still had some alcohol in my system, so it pushed me over the edge. it's probably too early to say i m back, i need to stop consuming like an obedient goy

you are right, the only instances that i felt a desire to travel was when reading some articles of people that travel the world for unusual ancient architecture, unusual natural structures, and religious temples or cathedrals. maybe travelling is about what you want to see or that is related to your interest, so it depends. i also remember of seeing this picture of the place were schopenhauer lived and it looked so different in atmosphere

I had no idea ppl travel so much before social media tbh, I was shocked to figure average ppl travel to foreign countries annually

Always thought commuting and spending your yearly saving is nowhere near worth it just to wander streets, sit in a cafe and possibly swim in a pool

i can't travel because they allow non whites to fly and service planes and it's no longer safe. i'd take trains and ships but it takes too long.

while using dating apps, i noticed that a lot of women (the upper middle class ones) had pictures of themselves taken next to the tower eiffel. of course theres nothing wrong with this, until you it dawns on you that, despite the amount of selfies or pictures that they take of themselves next to the tower eiffel, that none of them have one of such pictures in the sagrada familia, or any other building. if they did 'travelling pictures' directed for self exposure alone based on 'aesthetics,' it would be less unoriginal and even more genuine. but, in their case, they do so for socially integrating stimulus, which is self-reinforcing (becoming the icon they see on propaganda), and nothing else

Coupla years ago I was bored in Paris so I decided to climb up the Eiffel Tower (top floor)

That was a mistake, it's an Auschwitz-tier queue and mass transportation

to ruminate better on what i said, we can see that this iconolatry leads people to care more about becoming an icon, and so, integrating themselves in the digital gallery of icons, than the raw experience, or so of what they truly desire, by an individuated aesthetic sensibility, in their hearts. either way, this digitalized branding of an identity as an icon is a form of mentally pervasive passiveness... the role of spectatorship of the icons becomes of the self as well at all moments, which explains why some people die while taking selfies or when recording something, because they truly are not there but in the images; so even when out there, the polished representation of that day, is more important, and so to be contained to an image of worship, rather than the true sensual experience.
