my problem with 4chan is threefold:

1.tons of bots and shills on there; its impossible to know if youre participating in genuine conversations or if youre being subtly socially engineered. this differs from board to board of course, but in general, you never really know

2.I like 4chan enough but its not a perfect fit for me. ive always identified more with the PSLsphere, which is sort of a subset of 4chan in a way but also its not. its hard to articulate this exactly but im sure you all know what I mean

3.cant use 4chan without a VPN... I always assume that 4chan is a honeypot (otherwise it would have been shut down ages ago), so I never feel comfortable posting anything there, especially not without a VPN

well lookism is dead so... bookism isnt quite as good as lookism, but it does have a substantial chunk of the old userbase which is what really matters afterall

ive only browsed 4chan since around 2017 so I have no idea. its honestly decent, I spend a lot of time at /tv/ even though I dont even watch movies or TV; I just find the commentary there hilarious and on point

the archives? you mean like archived posts from years ago? I think theres lots of interesting posts of 4chan, but yeah tons of garbage too and for aforementioned reasons I dont even bother interacting with the community that much

I made the mistake of checking out /pol/ yesterday; in a thread with 200+ replies there were literally only like 10-15 good comments, the rest was inane filler and stupid bullshit (probably shills or bot posts). the bullshit to quality ratio was insane; however I havent noticed the same problem on other boards. its not uncommon to find healthy breads with lots of good insights on /tv/, /ck/ etc
