Why Eurovision has not produced any good songs? Google ai shows waterloo but that was a very weak Abba song

What is the selection process are only amateurs allowed to enter?

It's a simplistic boring song. Do the lyrics somehow improve it? I don't listen for and can hardly understand most lyrics I judge based on the music only.
