I Am!

By John Clare

I am! yet what I am who cares, or knows?
My friends forsake me like a memory lost.
I am the self-consumer of my woes,
They rise and vanish, an oblivious host,
Shadows of life, whose very soul is lost.
And yet I am—I live—though I am toss'd

Into the nothingness of scorn and noise,
Into the living sea of waking dream,
Where there is neither sense of life, nor joys,
But the huge shipwreck of my own esteem
And all that's dear. Even those I loved the best
Are strange—nay, they are stranger than the rest.

I long for scenes where man has never trod,
    For scenes where woman never smiled or wept;
There to abide with my Creator, God,
And sleep as I in childhood sweetly slept
Full of high thoughts, unborn. So let me lie,
The grass below; above the vaulted sky.

Quote:John Clare (1793–1864), the English rural poet, was approximately five feet tall. His short stature was attributed to malnutrition and poor health during his childhood.

Hes literally 5 feet. Also nothing about his poetry screamsams high iq to me. I'll read it later

Also it's possible to be high IQ and dysgenic, we don't really need high IQs, theyre not vital to survival or optimal function of society. We have plenty of high IQs without mental illnesses that it's such a scarce resource that we need to make exceptions for every nut

Was Beethoven dysgenic then? He was 5'3. And should society select against a Beethoven type?

Thing about high IQ is that most.f it comes from prenatal brain damage and mutations. It's not something you pass on genetically
You can't select for genius you can just select for good health fitness and chadhood. Genius is completely random

See how all those genii produce average or sub average people and how reverse is true. Genius is a kind of abnormality

That's not how you get genius. Beethoven was a short, unstable alcoholic.

Beethoven literally is a randomized genetic mutation probably got brain damaged in the womb and pulled out prematurely. You can't proactively create Beethoven's, they are randomized artifacts of gene pool. The higher the baseline for the overall health of the pool, the higher likelihood Beethoven's inhabit body of a fabien pelous
