circe is a sorceress and queen and has her own island named aeaea which is full of nymphs, as such she is as a stately woman.
in the myth, the ship of odysseus ends up there. once he and his sailor men are wandering in the island circe does not like much their closeness and decides to turn such men into beasts through her magical ability. pasiphae, another sorceress (who circes sister) is cursed by poseidon to fall in love with a cretan bull. because of said love, she becomes desperate and asks for the help of daedalus, who constructs a hollow 'bull' for she to sneak in and 'wear' as prosthetic in way to mate with the cretan bull. she later conceives of a minotaur as a result, and since such 'son' was an unnatural beast, they decide to imprison such creature in a labyrinth built by daedalus. in both stories and myths we have a 'magik tekhne' transmutation or conception of beasts of men. in circe, there is the pharmakon or pharmacological aspect of the sorcery, which going by the very definition is the psychotropics, synthetic hormones and all kinds of behavior altering or perception blunting neurochemical agents; in pasiphae there is the chimeric research aspect of sorcery, the form modifying and assisted reproduction of what is supposed to be unlikely, which, differently to circe, isnt a men-to-beast transmuting but a beastly conceiving, and this isnt much different to our reality, for too in the story, at least of pasiphae, there is an unending maze, which by the very architecture is regulatory, statal and has dominion over beastly men, it is to say, an artificial and horroristic garden built by the technomagicians. ![]() ![]()
