Highly educated, married with children, high influence (even if within a niche group). By the normal standards of society, he would be considered successful.

I'm talking about the standards of society overall. Not by the standards of the pope or a top tier athlete. 

A successful person doesn't have to be known by too many people. A married medical doctor in a village in the western world is probably more successful than Dutton by objective measures and yet is known by fewer people, so that can't be the standard of success.
