The only reason they're considered paragons of tolerance is due to recency bias where intolerance towards anything before their time is considered a sign of enlightenment and therefore associated with all its other virtues, ie muh tolerance. Midwits are prone to this because they have genetically bad memories and poor ability to synergize old data with new.
. Also tolerance by itself should not be considered inherently virtuous, it is context dependent. Being tolerant towards something that harms you in the long run is just dumb and cowardly. It's selfish if you intent for it's consequences to land on your descendants.

What people consider important or relevant is nearly completely determined by genetics. It is biology that divides people and peace can only occur when people are allowed to strive for true diversity by separating and branching out amongst their own without infetterance.or forced integration of any kind.

Why is tolerance a good thing? If something is good for you you don't need to tolerate it. You only have to tolerate it because it's a bad thing that is being forced on you.
