yeah, maybe it can be so if done gradually
i believe honestly that if you quit any cyberspace that is video primary or that has both a comment section and some form of feedback mechanism then you will be good and able to mentally rest

Those are absolutely the worst. Especially with “shortform” content like youtube shorts or tiktok.  It’s so easy to fall into the trap of watching a few videos and slowly falling into a fever dream of manipulative, enraging, titillating, and downright confusing nonsense and before you know it, it’s been 1, 2, 3 hours.

I think certain slow forums and imageboards like this one are certainly much less harmful,(Going to go on a bit of a tangent here for the sake of typing out some feelings, feel free to ignore) though in my case I have really only been coming here to stew in self-hatred. I should probably stop that, but it feels almost ingrained into my life at this point, like it’s a part of me almost. I don’t really know how to quit though. I think a huge problem of mine is that I really cannot accept reality. I can’t accept who I am, my shortcomings, my past. The thought of putting in effort to change my situation feels like a waste, since, if the issues that torment me most are ones that would be present no matter how much effort I put in.
I understand that rationally, regardless of those issues, my situation would probably be improved if I were to #PutInTheWork!, but I feel I am always dragged back into the darkness after trying without seeing quick changes. I’m not sure how to maintain that momentum when I do start something.

You know what we used to do for fun.

Repeat whatever the previous person said.

"Hey stop repeating what I said!"

-"Hey stop repeating what I said. :P"

You don't wanna go back to that level of boredom

Might be more fun if each person adds a few words each time

There was no internet so people did all types of stupid activities

There was one called "Fly, fly, fly."

You use your index fingers to strike a desk top and say "Fly fly fly fly"

and then suddenly someone utters a noun: "Elephant!"

If the noun in question can fly, then you raise your hands. But, a lot of gamers would mistakenly raise them at "Elephant."
