the only thing that helped me not cry like a baby is mixing salt and water, just holding it in my mouth for a few minutes, spitting it out and do it over and over again until you fall asleep or go to the dentist

Over time you should probably look to use a remineralizing toothpaste of some kind
Sensodyne also seems to have stuff to decrease the pain if you’re not afraid of fluoride.
I am afraid of fluoride though so I use a hydroxyapatite toothpaste and for awhile was using MI paste multiple times a day, youg
can get it from some debtist supply shops.
