Dove chicks are dead
#1
They suddenly caught something and became very ill. One day they were walking around fine next day they couldn't even lift their heads anymore.

First the smaller weaker one died while tucked under the wing of his loving sibling, then the next day his bigger healthier sibling showed the same symptoms, when I saw his head on the ground I knew it was over. I held him in my hands because I didn't want him to die alone and cold. Right before death he woke up stretched his wings then stopped breathing.

I cried so much for both of them. They just couldn't catch a break and had all kinds of issues.

I am never letting birds nest in this balcony again, I can't handle this, plus these diseases can infect my own parrots.

im sorry for your loss

they looked really healthy too

i remember when i found a bird outside and i couldnt save it. it died during the night. there was no hope.
i also remember the one time we were so excited that birds had nested but a huge storm came and all but two fell out of the nest and their poor little bodies were just strewn out on the deck. nature can just be so brutal.

hopefully next life they will have a fighting chance.

Undisputedcry

I can't forget how they would run to hug each other when separated.
Grok says they caught bird canker when their mother was feeding them.
