Youtube was launched February 14 2005 and I'm typing this on February 14 2025.

Just to think how good Youtube was in 2005 - 2009. Exciting to watch new videos, people were allowed to upload offensive videos, could watch videos of people fighting violently, people had their own opinions, could watch anime movies for free, offensive opinions were allowed, etc.

Now it's 2025 and you have to be careful what to type, what to post and most Youtubers that are allowed to have an opinion are true NPCs or just scammers.

The 2000s stood as the final decade. 

As of late-2010s / 2020s thee are no more jingles in commercials, shitty ads on Youtube, absolutely horrible music on advertisements / commercials and hardly any attractive girls on advertisements, etc.

The only real advantage of the 2020s is making easy money on social media, but other than that it's pretty much a calamity from nothingness or like an ocean without water...

they have completely butchered the layout of youtube nowadays.

I have made a bunch threads about it.

They hide subscriptions, hide about page, make the layout the least desktop friendly possible, shove shorts in ur face, what else am I missing.

but early youtube was harder to navigate and i can fondly remember thumbnails not loading, 360p quality, buffering, it was messy.

2012-2016 was probably when the website was the best
