You are may be culturally inclined to eat more processed foods and such, and you have access to snacks and all that. 

But at the same time you have access to more information, wholefoods, supplements and such to stay at a better body comp. 

I don't mean choice is in literally where you can just pick and choose, but I mean that you are more likely to be self-aware and have more control of your situation

Singapore is a developed nation too, yet most young people you will see aren't obese.
