The mainstreamification of looksmaxing has made me very sad

im usually 10 steps ahead of trends. theres this thing that happens with online forums / central ideas that start as a cult but have a 90% chance to become mainstream.. think: 4chan, Lolcow, Speedrunning, discord things like that. 

I know this and it happens a lot but i would have never expected looksmaxing to become one of them. For context i am substitute teachering at a place and this kid in a 4th grade class does the Mewing point finger at jaw thing to me. Its just a funny joke to them (thankfully) 

as when these cultish things gain notoriety and fame they become memed (think people calling other ppl discord mods, reddit tranmys, etc) some ppl make fun of looksmaximg but theres still those real people who rly believe it .

Let me tell you guys something as an internet historian. i was there for ever prime lookism year and the SH years prior. It was always a joke, a prank. 

Mms make mm’s, ldar, surgeries, it was all a joke. A honeypot. When a truly ill person would stumble upon these ideas we trolled them into doing it, think alain, golgtonto, mudkip, these people actually got life altering surgeries. Golgonto removed a rib to suck himself off because we convinced him to ldar, mudkip for gender reasignment, alain had his entire lowr third removed and replaced with a cow’s jawbone. 

I will say though… looksmaxing is mocked (the most mocked i have ever seen it , but also the most popular i have seen it) 

Yes being 6’4 with an amazing face gets you laid. But have you ever had a butterfly land on the palm of your hand? Have you seen the way that moss will form an oath upon a rock and whisper to it about the summertime. Or how the rock will explain stories of molten core to the moss? Have you laughed today? Did you remember to love today? Do you feel the wind blow against your balding head or do you pamper it with chemicals in order for stacy to recognize a follicle or two?

no it wasnt just a joke. people would joke around a lot but we took looksmaxxing pretty seriously
