why do we lose weight over night?

i weigh myself before sleep and see 100 kg, and repeat it after waking up and see 99.3 or something

your organs still work and spend energy while you are asleep

makes sense, but that's the case during the day too, and i never see weightloss between, let's say, 3 pm and 9 pm, even if i don't consume any calories in that period. and i m definitely more active then than when i sleep

You'd probs drink liquids during that period tho, right?

idk but in your case you probably gain weight overnight if anything

You can sweat in extremely little amounts. You also lose a sizeable amount of water from breathing.

Imagine a glass fogging up as you breathe passively over it. That's all the water that will be lost and you will repeat that again and again.

Same thing with sweat, you body can just be kinda very barely moist.

You shouldn't lose much fat when you sleep because your organs and systems tone down significantly to save energy. Your expenditure would be very little.
