the gregorian calendar is the most accurate and practical therefore it was agreed upon making it non-arbitrary

arbitrary
  1. 1.
based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system.

let me ask you something, why does february have 28 days and the rest of the months have 30/31?

The Roman Origins:

  1. Early Calendar: The original Roman calendar had 10 months and wasn't synced to the solar year.
  2. Numa's Reform (c. 700 BCE): King Numa Pompilius added January and February to align the calendar with the lunar year (around 355 days).
  3. Superstition: Romans believed even numbers were unlucky, so Numa made most months 29 or 31 days.
  4. The "Leftover" Month: To get an odd total for the year (since 12 odd numbers would make an even total), one month had to have an even number. February, associated with purification rituals and the dead, was chosen for this 28-day slot.
yeah this sounds super practical and not like supersitious whim, buddy

the gregorian calendar isn't even the only calendar in use in the modern era. other cultures still use their own calendar systems, so please sit the fuck down and stop spouting bullshit

correct me if i'm wrong, but most of those celebrating new year will be humans, not planets

just because it has some superstitious contents doesnt disprove the fact its the most accurate calendar, keeping a calendar in accordance to the solar year is very practical, its low iq contrarian nonsense to argue against that

other cultures also shit on the street and live in mud huts, doesnt mean anything

What's the event that marks January 1

Usually religious calendars start with some migration, but Jesus was too little to perform the hijra at age "5 days"
