biochemical weapons / weaponized pathogens seems to be a much "cleaner" choice than thermonuclear ones

you just want to destroy your enemies manpower, not destroy their infrastructure, not even their equipment. thermonuclear option is the final one and i wouldn't reckon they would resort to that, like ever  

but yeah, expect drones operated by ai foe detection algorithm dropping munitions loaded with bubonic plague on you

ure absolutely right
honestly with modern tech it does not take much to fuck up some countries for good - letting thermonuclear war as smth like a last resort/backup like a delay of a peak
targeting important areas for electricity, food production and so on and on - critical infrastructure - but now, bioweapons is next level and i think covid was the testing ground for that (which is very weird bc both the us and china were involved in it)
