Genetics is the biggest role. There is much more to genetics than looks.
There is more to status than looks as well. Jay-Z for example is ugly as fuck but no one could deny he has/had absolute dominant status and slayed in his prime.
There is more to it than money aswell. Think about Musk vs Bezos. One high status one low status both extremely wealthy. A more extreme example of low L high M low S would be a guy like Paul Allen.
Status captures some of the important aspects of L(genetics) and M(resources) but has more factors as well, that's why I would put it as most important
Imagine bezos looked like musk and musk looked like bezos. Would musk still have the edge concerning status? I’m not so sure
And even high status guys like Mike Tyson get cucked by guys like Brad Pitt
