do u think we can simulate the emotions and feelings we'd have when we're in love through other media like movies and excessive romance reading?
following by the same line of thinking of 'e-dating' i think yes
i dont think so, most people (not you but i mean most) confuse long distance phase of a ltr couple and edating. in the ldrphase of the ltr couple, they kinda "remember" what they feel and duplicate them back to back with stimuli (voice via talking to each other etc) and in edating its like they've never felt all of the stimuli before
if it was really the case i dont think people who have been simulating themselves with edating or media would want to tire themselves out by actually being in love
that would be an issue of authenticity which i won't touch. for the upper text, for sure it must be a stretch to say this is easily simulated by media, but it does happen. and yes i am exclusively referring to those who were contained to the e-dating. i've observed it, an anecdote, not of myself, but they do act differently, which is the only thing i can say from this observation is that they do feel something different from usual. anyway, don't you find obsession with VTubers weird? maybe not love, but it's close to infatuation by phenomenon of media alone
