tbh 4chan (using that as an example because it's the antithesis of reddit, in terms of views/outlooks on life), probably has the same problem of lack of critical thinking, it's just less noticeable because their default opinions are more appealing on average

every time i browse that site i feel like i just murdered someone and i'm being interrogated by detectives who want me behind bars if i'm guilty or not

tbh, i think i've seen this irl, it's hysterical in a way. can you imagine them arguing irl?



i'm super agreeable irl specifically to avoid this kind of thing... engaging with these people just results in a stalemate or a fight, there's no point in it

it's insane, though.. even having an uncivil discourse on reddit makes me want to punch my screen... talking to a brick wall etc... you know how it goes
