yes some stuff takes time, but at the end of the day you can turn any real life situation into a black or white question. you might of listened to the rap a bit, but at the end of the day you don't like it and eventually reverted back to your nature state in regards to it. there are a lot of physical factors involved as well.

I genuinely liked rap for awhile; I didnt exclusively listen to it, but I was ok with it and thought some of it sounded pretty cool and I listened to it for years after I stopped hanging out with my rich friend. this had less to do with wanting to fit into an 'in' group and more to do with the fact that my mind was opened to something due to the halo effect of my rich friend. the reality of the situation is more complicated than your arbitrary and artificial model of human psychology

the greatest irony here is that youre basically agreeing with me after gradually walking back from your original points. ive stayed true to my original points, youve had to keep adjusting, backtracking and changing your arguments hahahah. once again, for whatever reasons, LMS can halo uncool things. case in point:

nothing youve said disproved this (in fact just the opposite, youre trying to argue what ive been saying the entire time now). you just switched from saying that the halo effect is a deliberate ploy to gain access to resources to saying that its actually just some kind of hidden psychological desire to belong in the in group which drives the halo effect. you literally had to change your form of argument to try to prove your point which means that you were wrong

anyways you are wrong cause to actually make them change their tastes like i said in my next post after that one, you need to make them consciously affirm the thing. in your case with the rap music its the listening of the rap music with your rich friend and even alone. once you stopped listening to the rap music, you stopped consciously affirming the idea / opinion, you stopped thinking it was cool. go read up on cults and how they operate, there is a reason they brand people and put blindfolds on them and make them recite oaths that revealing the cult secrets means death.
