[Aspie] can being wealthy turn failos into halos?

I think theres some gray areas here; autisticness/weirdness is a pretty broad term and can encompass lots of different kinds of behavior. I guess what I was trying to say is this:

middle class autist = "that guy's a weirdo lol"

wealthy autist = "omg he's so quirky/eccentric/genius etc"

dude go on youtube or twitter and watch some videos of people asking girls what their future boyfriend / husbands salary needs to be and they all say over 6 figures.

middle class autist = that guy's a weirdo lol
rich autist = he's weird but i can buy all the things i want and go on all the trips i want so i put up with it and call it quirky or call him a genius cause he is rich

I get your point but I dont think its a black or white situation. there are some kinds of weirdness/autism that are unambiguously a failo but then there are other kinds of weirdness/autism that can be a halo under certain conditions. I think youre oversimplifying what kind of behavior weirdness/autism actually entails (like I said, it can be a broad spectrum of things, there isnt one singular type of weirdness/autism)

if it's weird when he isn't rich, it's weird when he is rich. it's that simple. bad traits do not magically become attractive cause you are rich, you being rich is what is making you attractive.

cope, its really not that simple. take for instance if some guy is extremely autistic about classical music; if this guy is wealthy then all the sudden his autism about classical music looks extremely sophisticated and elegant whereas if the guy was middle class then he would just appear to be an over-obsessed weirdo

I can personally recall times where I thought something was lame (like rap music) but then some rich person I would be hanging out with would be listening to rap music and suddenly I would think rap music was much cooler than I previously thought it was, simply because it got haloed by being associated with a rich person
