I haven't listened to music in months. When I do, it always feels good to turn it off and be back to silence again. I'm pretty sure I get more enjoyment out of the search for new music, rather than listening to the music itself.
I'd imagine more introverted/autistic/thoughtful people get sensory overload from music and need silence to focus on their thoughts.
