Almost all people you meet on "the spiritual path" are ugly losers

I went to a Hare Krishna temple to try to become spiritual and the guy took me to the basement and fed me a bunch of vegetarian food and talked to me about celibacy 

but I just couldn't help but realize that the only reason he was doing all this was because he was an ugly loser

then he mentioned me and him passing out literature in the park and I saw how short and bald he was and it just creeped me out so I left without joining the temple 

is "spirituality" a major cope to try and impress women without being good looking?
