You just need to find the individual onto whom you can perform a transference.

Basically, unless your "therapist" looks like, acts like, smells like, talks like, your role model--or your abuser, same thing--their words will never have any effect on you. And professional psychotherapy selects for, and to a certain extent only admits, a certain type of personality that is generally alienating to most men. It is in the nature of psychotherapy to demand deprofessionalization in order for it to work.  But alas, it is professionalized. Greek tragedy once more.
