Go to established churches and pick some trustworthy priest, not some evangelical fundamentalist, who wants to sell you stuff. If he's any good, he will not give you a theological lecture. If he's catholic, he might give you blessings. Most priests regularly interact with ordinary people and know that the average person has little interest in dogma, especially a person in a crisis.
