Working memory definitely really useful in many situations mainly having to do with socialization(caring about and remembering names) and work efficiency/competence, but not necessarily required to have elite intelligence/sentience. I'm a 160 IQ and my working memory is just above average

Chimpanzees have.far greater working memory than humans, it's not a hard requirement for elite IQ:
