a huge part of modern service economy (which operates a lot as an adult daycare as well) comes from women and feminine beings copying everything they see, be it from commercials or shows that are slightly more subtle in this regard. whether the medium of it is social media, television or not, what such people will recognize as a model, being so the people wearing, carrying or using of such and such product, will be people that are perceptually of an order or a few orders of social status above them. its not even the product that is the purpose in itself here, for the product is not what is being desired in the first place. those who are feminine want to be like the other person, that they see as famous, successful and popular. this obviously isnt limited to the parasocial or celebrities that are remote, but can be peers. social media is the worst one because it makes certain people (that are otherwise inaccessible) be seen as 'peers' too, but in real life such mimesis between peers do happen at similar rate, however the celebrities are always more aimed at by the common people
