Application of knowledge is the best way to memorize. I give you an example of my studying during my uni days. I'd have to read 200 pages of theory then apply it on exercises. I couldn't do that, I have ADHD but it's mostly because my dopamine receptors are fried from internet use. So, I went to the exercises straight away, and tried to solve them and everything I didn't know, I turned back and searched on theory. This way I skipped a lot of useless information and was better directed and determined on what to learn. Through this process, application of knowledge, you remember what you studied as if you studied it 100 times.
