Why would people scam? Why would people unfairly promote garbage above merit? And why is this such a widespread phenomenon that is concentrated in institutions of cultural and political influence? Midwits were not a thing a century ago. The average barista didn't have 29 mental illnesses and a liberal arts degree. What changed?
