People are often afraid of actually meeting their emotional selves and accepting them.

You know what too many people avoid? The fact that we're all a little strange. The same person who tells you liking ponies is weird is the same person who will often dress up in a costume so they can solicit candy from strangers every Halloween, or they enjoy watching people dressed in their pajamas pretend to be from the future fighting space battles.

Or maybe they like watching two sports teams play a game on a field to the point where they dedicate an entire day to it every year and center that whole day around the ceremonial need to have a barbecue or to meet at a stadium for thousands of dollars.

We're monkeys wearing shoes, and we ascribe properties to the rest of the Earth without consulting it on any of them. We live in our own little headspaces and call it the universe, even when we pass on and it continues without our approval.

So don't sweat it.
