Pain is a brutal teacher with a high dropout rate.
But the ones who graduate are different beasts.
Not because suffering is beautiful.
Not because it’s “character-building” in some Instagram-quote way.
But because it is one of the very few experiences that can — against your will — upgrade almost every psychological and emotional subsystem at once.
And once upgraded, those changes tend to stick.
So yeah — if you make it through, pain and suffering very often make you stronger.
Not nicer. Not happier. Not softer.
Stronger.
