Yeah I used to be puzzled by the following 15-20 years ago.

I painstakingly save up some money: $400,000 in cash, and the sum is significant enough that most people say: "Wow, that is actually a decent amount."

But then I open up Robb Report magazine, and it lists a random house in a random place in America for $2,500,000.
